Day 1: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We will kick off this workshop with a theoretical introduction. Through a PowerPoint presentation, I will walk you through my entire creative process. We will cover everything from throwing a model on the wheel, creating plaster molds, and multi-layer porcelain slip casting, to firing, glazing, and dealing with form and deformation (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM). This will be followed by a live demonstration. Afterward, it’s your turn to get hands-on! You will sieve and color your porcelain, and cast about five pieces in 2 to 3 layers using your own plaster molds.

Day 2: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We will start by finishing the pieces from Day 1 using various techniques, such as adding texture and carving. Next, we will cast another series of pieces to put your newly acquired skills to the test. You will take these final pieces home to finish them yourself the following day.
By the end of the workshop, every participant will have several beautiful pieces to take home.
